ST. JOSEPH'S CHURCH
A church in Carrières-sous-Poissy, featuring contemporary stained glass, false ceilings and a new stained glass window
The old church was inaugurated in 1663 under the patronage of Saint Joseph and the Guardian Angel. Prior to this, Carriérois did not have their own church, and had to go to the parish of Triel. Its modest bell tower was not completed until 1670, after which the church underwent several transformations, from the false ceilings installed in the second half of the 18th c. to the enlargement of the sacristy in 1781. The Marquis de La Fare's daughter was buried here. It has since been fitted with three contemporary stained-glass windows by Bruno Croibier.
