Château in Carrières-sous-Poissy, with the aim of transforming abandoned spaces into places of artistic imagination
Supported by the Communauté d'agglomération 2 Rives de Seine, the project to renovate the Château Vanderbilt has been awarded to the Caserne Éphémère association, which for over 25 years has pursued the objective of transforming abandoned spaces into places of artistic imagination.
A place of residence and creation, the cultural center boasts 2,000 m² devoted to a dozen multi-disciplinary workshops, artistic residencies, a digital laboratory and spaces for transmission and exchange. The Vanderlab Association, founded and structured by Caserne Éphémère, is in charge of running the site. The Château organizes numerous events and, through the Vanderlab laboratory, provides its members with state-of-the-art machinery: 3D printers, digital milling and laser cutting machines, computers, software... all tools that were previously inaccessible to the general public. There are artists in residence and a co-working space specially dedicated to micro-businesses, auto-entrepreneurs and freelancers. A bar-restaurant, In Tempo, is located inside the Château. The open-air terrace overlooks a vast 6,000 m² park, with landscaping that forms an integral part of the cultural, artistic and social project (vegetable garden, land-art, digital arts and botanical installations, etc.). A dynamic space that gives pride of place to creativity and digital culture, and contributes to the cultural and social development of the region.
