A house that became a creative and exhibition space, now home to the Galerie Bessières specializing in contemporary art.
Built in 1761, Maison Levanneur bears the name of its first occupant, a prominent fisherman. Through succession and marriage, the house grew and became home to several families and trades. In 1830, it became a restaurant renting rooms to artists. André Derain and Maurice de Vlaminck set up their studios here. Purchased by the city, the house became a creative and exhibition space, and since 2018 has been home to the Galerie Bessières, which specializes in contemporary art.
