TOUR MONTJOIE
The tower, built by Mathieu de Beaumont and some fifteen meters high, offered an unobstructed view of the site.
Donated to the town of Conflans in 1931, the Montjoie tower (from the Roman Mont Jovis) was built by Mathieu de Beaumont in the 11th century, replacing the original wooden tower that saw the arrival of the relics of Sainte Honorine. Preserved from ruin, this fifteen-meter-high structure is one of the few remaining examples of a quadrangular Romanesque keep in the Île-de-France region, thanks to the complete preservation of its walls. Both a residence and fortress for the town's lords, the tower was a strategic location offering an unobstructed view.
