THÉMÉRICOURT CASTLE
Castle having played several roles, houses the House of Youth and Culture organizing cultural and sports activities
François Lesecq, secretary to Louis XIV, had the château built in 1667. Over the centuries, the estate has had many owners, most notably the Troussel family, who turned it into a housing estate in 1880. During the First World War, it was used as a convalescent home for wounded soldiers. In 1921, the château was acquired by the L'Enfance Bâtelière association, which set up a boarding school for the children of bargemen. Having lost none of its splendor, the château is now home to the MJC Les Terrasses, which organizes a wide range of cultural and sporting activities.
