ST. OBLATE'S CHURCH
church with 3 bronze bells, including the "Béate". Panelled nave and Romanesque portal.
Built in the 12th century, the church is dedicated to the hermit Saint Béat. The spire was built at the instigation of Countess Agnès de Montfort, wife of the Lord of Meulan, who also had sixteen other bell towers built in the region. Inside, you can admire the remarkable paneled nave, the Thibault tombstones and the ancient Romanesque portal. The bell tower features three bronze bells: "Béate", cast in 1597 and saved from destruction during the French Revolution, "Adolphine Emma Alphonsine" and "Alphonsine Adolphine Emma" from 1901.
