Former home of the Boulanger sisters in Gargenville, both famous for their contribution to French music.
Nadia (1887-1979) and Lili (1893-1918) Boulanger were major figures in twentieth-century music: the former through her teaching career, the latter by winning the Grand Prix de Rome for musical composition at the age of 19. The latter died prematurely at the age of 24, leaving her last masterpiece, Pie Jesu, dictated to her sister. Les Maisonnettes is a group of 3 buildings that belonged to their mother, where the two sisters came to work in fine weather with the famous pianist and neighbor Raoul Pugno. The complex can be visited by appointment at the town hall.
