PROTESTANT TEMPLE
Protestant church inaugurated in 1865 thanks to donations from the Mallet and Bartholdi-Walther families, later became a boarding school.
Protestantism settled in the commune of Jouy-en-Josas in the 18th century, with the arrival of Christophe Philippe Oberkampf, who worshipped in his family barn. Built in 1865 on land belonging to the former Jouy canvas factory, the temple was financed by donations from the Mallet family, descendants of the industrialist and engraver, and the Bartholdi-Walther family. From the end of the 19th century until 1919, the site was a boarding school for girls. The parishes of Jouy, Vélizy, Viroflay and Chaville are leading a project to renovate the site.
