BELLEVUE CASTLE
Built in 1900 in the Dutch Renaissance style, this bourgeois residence was home to the exiled Queen Amélie of Portugal.
Of the past of this Dutch Renaissance mansion, we know only the name of its last owner: Queen Amélie of Portugal. She went into exile after the assassination of her royal and unfaithful husband and son, putting an end to the Portuguese monarchy. She bought the château in 1921 and lived there until her death in 1951. Today, the building houses the Chambre internationale d'agriculture d'Ile-de-France. The only reminder of its illustrious owner is a white marble plaque. Unfortunately, the château is not open to the public.
