RENOIR HOUSE
Auguste Renoir's childhood home in Louveciennes, where the painter's mother lived, as did Charles Munch and Kurt Weill.
The famous painter's mother lived in this modest house in the heart of the hamlet of Voisins. The young Auguste Renoir used to come and visit her, and it was this house that he captured forever in his painting Provende des Poules. The place and its surroundings have remained virtually unchanged ever since. The artist also painted many pictures of the surrounding area, including numerous views of the Seine valley, which contributed to his reputation. Conductor Charles Munch and composer Kurt Weill also lived here in the 20th century.
