Château de la Couronne, once home to the governor of the Machine de Marly and then the Countess du Barry, classified as a historic monument.

In 1769, Louis XV installed his favorite Jeanne du Barry in this former Pavillon des Eaux, which housed the governor of the Machine de Marly. She had the estate restored by architect Ange-Jacques Gabriel, who enriched it with a greenhouse, orangery and Doric temple... Between 1770 and 1772, she had the Pavillon de Musique built for her receptions. A controversial figure at Court, she found refuge here and remained in exile from 1776 until her death on the scaffold in 1793.
