Forest representing a massif made up of two distinct sites: Mérantaise valley and Trappes wood, with forest roads.
The forest represents a massif of 720 hectares composed of two distinct sites: the valley of the Mérantaise, a narrow but continuous wooded ribbon on the communes it crosses in the Regional Natural Park, and the Trappes wood, a former royal hunting reserve which has kept its wide alleys and star-shaped crossroads, where an important fauna of wild boars, foxes and roe deers lives. There are forest paths for walking, cycling and horse riding, signposted footpaths, picnic areas and playgrounds, as well as a sports trail.
