THE PARK OF MAISONS-LAFFITTE
This 300-hectare park is a landmark in Maisons-Laffitte's history and identity.
The park, like the château, is a Maisons-Laffitte landmark. Its 300 hectares were laid out by François Mansart. In 1658, it was made a marquisate by Louis XIV, who authorized its enclosure. Its layout and afforestation were not completed until the 18th century. In 1818, banker Jacques Laffitte bought the estate, which he subdivided in 1833 into "a town of country houses". The park became home to such luminaries as Franck Jay Gould, the Aga Khan, Jacques Fath and Jean Cocteau..

Il ne s'agit pas (plus) à proprement parler d'un parc d'agrément, mais plutôt d'un quartier résidentiel noyé dans les arbres, entre forêt et zones équestres
