THE ALLIERS OF CHAVANNES
The villa «Les de Chavannes» has its name from the place-state on which it was built. The combination means a "rigid fillet to catch partridge" and the residence is close to the former hunting pavilion of the Château de Villiers. Built in the second half of the th century, this elegant villa and its common (now disappeared) houses are in the middle of a park, even with a garden, a greenhouse and a basin. The reception lounge, with its fireplace and wood panelling, preserved its typical décor in the late th century. The property was bought by the municipality in 1958 to install a school, then the library of the city.
