Spread over 117 hectares, the Maurepas state forest is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. Among the trees that make up the forest are hornbeams and oaks (including two historic oaks planted in the late 16th century), as well as chestnuts, hazelnuts, birches, Scots and Laricio pines, beeches, maples, ashes and alders that thrive in damp conditions... There are hiking and horse-riding trails, picnic areas and a fishing pond.
