ST. NICHOLAS CHURCH
Restored Romanesque church with exceptional baptismal font and beautiful altarpiece.
Built in 1118 by Simon III de Montfort, Constable of France, the church stands on the site of the former "new temple" that gave its name to the village. Today, only the choir and transept remain from the Romanesque period. Extensively damaged during the Hundred Years' War, it was restored with a new nave and façade. Inside, the church boasts an exceptional 13th-century baptismal font and a beautiful altarpiece. The Counts of Pontchartrain completed the church's furnishings in 1731. In fine weather, you can visit the bell tower.
