ABBEY OF ABBECOURT
Ruins of the abbey founded in 1180 in the Alluets forest, a site steeped in history of which only ruins remain in Orgeval.
The abbey's name comes from the lords of Heubecour, who ruled the estate in the 12th century. Founded in 1180 in the Alluets forest, the abbey grew to become one of the most important religious establishments in the region. It had numerous outbuildings, including farms and a mill. In the 18th century, a mineral spring with medicinal properties was discovered. In 1827, the buildings were demolished and sold for building materials. Today, only the ruins are visible near the pond.
