L'OCTROI
The octroi of Poissy, a neoclassical building with an octagonal geometry, emblematic of the town's history
Architect Auguste Goy designed the plans and oversaw the construction of this octagonal neoclassical building in 1832. The Octroi, located at the intersection of Rue du Grand-Marché and Rue de Paris, collected duties on animals sold at the market. For many years, it was home to the town's Tourist Office, now housed in a historic building on Boulevard Robespierre. The interior, currently unoccupied, is not open to visitors, although it remains an emblematic building in Poissy's history.
