THATCHED COTTAGE
La Chaumière des Coquillages in the English garden, houses a small salon entirely covered from floor to ceiling in seashells.
Around 1775, Louis-Jean-Marie de Bourbon, Duc de Penthièvre, had the curious Chaumière des Coquillages built. Located in the English garden, not far from a river, the building was designed to impress his daughter-in-law, the widowed Princesse de Lamballe. A real curiosity on the estate, it is surprisingly refined inside. In the small salon, walls and ceiling are entirely covered with seashells. In the next room, the woodwork is painted in the Pompeian style. Superb!

De plus, l'emplacement en plein milieu du parc de cette jolie chaumière, permets d'effectuer une petite balade

If you have the time, I advise you to visit the Groussay a few miles (Montfort the amaury) whose park contains some very interesting factories.
Murs, sols, plafond…Magnifiques fresques et quel travail.
A faire après la Laiterie .
