The most important remnant of the Yveline forest, Silva Aequilina, the Rambouillet forest is the largest forest in the Yvelines département, covering some 15,000 ha. Here you can discover the Pierre Ardoue (dolmen) at Les Bottes Rouges, the Hollande ponds and the Château de Mormaire. The forest is the last forest in the Yvelines region where hunting with hounds is still practiced. It is also a favorite destination for hikers and bikers in the Paris region, with a multitude of well-maintained footpaths.
