LOUIS CASTLE XIII
Château built in several stages, first by Hercules, then by Charles Louis Gaspard de Rohan Rochefort. Louis XIII style.
Not far from the remains of Gui le Rouge's château, a second château was built in the early 17th century by Hercule de Rohan-Rochefort. Destroyed in 1780, it was immediately replaced by another château designed for Charles Louis Gaspard de Rohan-Rochefort. Never completed, it was abandoned during the French Revolution and demolished in 1801. The current château, in the Louis XIII style, was built in the early 19th century on the former outbuildings, reusing materials from previous buildings. The de la Roche-Guyon family lived here until the end of the 19th century.
