FLAG OF SILENCE
Pavillon de la muette, a former hunting lodge of Louis XV, regularly hosts exhibitions of contemporary art.
To the north of the forest, the Pavillon de la Muette is a former hunting lodge belonging to Louis XV. Seven sovereigns of France frequented it, in the vanished splendor of hunting with hounds. The clean lines of the stone and wood and the accuracy of the proportions are visible in the immense octagonal salon, the discreet hunting officers' room and the vast underground kitchens. Contemporary art exhibitions are regularly held here. Major work is currently underway to restore the facade and masonry, and eradicate merula.
