Château d'Hennemont was built at the beginning of the 20th century, at the request of pharmacist Henri Canonne, inventor of the Valda lozenge, on the site of a medieval priory. It was destroyed by the Black Prince, Edward Plantagenet, in 1346, at the start of the Hundred Years' War. Today's château has an atypical architectural style, blending neo-Gothic and Renaissance styles. On the garden side, the facade, featuring a main building flanked by two pavilions, is inspired by the 17thcentury , although one of the gabled pavilions is more 16th-century.
