THE MARKET SQUARE
The square hosts a lively market three times a week in Saint-Germain-en-Laye.
On the square, the houses form a homogeneous ensemble built in the early 19th century. On the other side was the wheat and flour market, built in 1770 and replaced by the Post Office in 1911. Today's Marché Neuf was established here as early as 1776. A few years ago, the site was given a facelift. Cleared of cars after the construction of an underground parking lot, the square is now dedicated to pedestrians, with a fountain and water features that delight children. The square remains the town's nerve center, hosting a lively market three times a week.
