ST. BENEDICT'S PRIORY
Priory where Benedictine monks settled in 1963 to restore monastic life in the Port-Royal valley.
The first Benedictine monks settled here in 1963, with the mission of restoring monastic life to the Port-Royal valley. A series of buildings for monastic life, hospitality and a seminary center were erected over the years. Today, an Assumptionist community has taken over, and only the small chapel is open to the public. The workshops are also the place where Pourlècherie, a kind of compote jam made from pears, Cabernet wine, cloves and cinnamon, is made.
