SEPTEUIL CASTLE
Château with park and gardens designed by Le Nôtre. 2 pavilions, one of which is called the "music rotunda". Retirement home.
The present-day Château de Septeuil was built in the 18th century, although a château had already existed here in the Middle Ages. Although the park and gardens, said to have been designed by Le Nôtre, once covered 26 hectares, only 17 remain today. The main building is flanked by two pavilions, one of which is circular and known as the "rotonde de musique". In 1955, the château was converted into a retirement home, and original features such as the moat and wrought-iron gate were lost.
