STAR PARK

The Parc aux Stars is a great place for French astronomy astronomy: there are many great names there, as facilitators or simple observers. Today, it consists of the Triel Observatory (founded in 1973) with the largest astronomical "amateur" of France and the museum space, created later in 1990. The ensemble is set on a 4 hectare estate in the park of the Tower of the Tower. Since its creation, this park has been developing and innovating. Thus, a few years ago, new areas of discovery were created, including an outdoor course allowing the presentation of thematic exhibitions, or an area of biodiversity to highlight the fauna and flora of the site. Among the activities related to astronomy and space, the museum occupies an important part since visitors discover the main constellations and mythologies associated with it, the major stages of the evolution of the Universe, and an entire sector dedicated to astronautics.

The Parc aux Stars is extremely dynamic in terms of practical astronomy through public evenings where you discover the stars to the naked eye, and where you learn to find out among the constellations, before approaching the observation strictly speaking to the telescope or telescope. Every year generally in May, a Mega Star Party is also organized, with the clubs and astronomy associations of Île-de-France. Stands are then set up as well as conferences, often very interesting, given by renowned scientists. Finally, most astronomy or astronautical events are subject to special days or evenings.
