CLUB D'ASTRONOMIE DE VELIZY - VILLACOUBLAY
How many people spend every day on the 10 th René Boyer Street in Vélizy without noticing, above this small building of three stories (near Fronval public elementary school), the presence of a compliance dome? This is where the Vélizy Astronomy Club is giving you an appointment, usually Friday nights from 9:30 p. m., to the public who wants to start astronomical observation! But before coming, it is imperative to notify the association by email, because access to the building is not free. Not surprisingly, the sky from the dome hosting a 280 mm diameter telescope is not of sufficient quality to allow the observation of weak celestial objects… Also, initiation is done around the brightest objects such as the Moon and planets: a good way to discover the craters of our satellite, as well as the rings of Saturn and hurricanes in the atmosphere of Jupiter. The club also organizes trips away from the city to enjoy a better sky, but normally reserved for its registered members.
