Musée de l'Histoire de France (Museum of French History) in Versailles, presenting works illustrating key moments in France's history

Inaugurated in 1837, this museum was created by order of King Louis-Philippe, and dedicated "to all the Glories of France". It presents works illustrating the high points of France's history, and evokes its great men, from Clovis onwards. 3,000 paintings were commissioned by the king to accompany older works drawn from the national collections. Some of the rooms are open to the public as part of a self-guided tour of the château, while others are open to the public on guided tours.

Frumos dar foarte aglomerat. Recomand evitarea zilelor de week-end și a zilei de marți. Biletele se rezerva pe ore, și dacă mergi acolo fără bilet nu prea ai șanse sa intrii repede sau poate nici nu mai sunt bilete pe ziua respectivă. Recomand rezervarea online cu minim câteva zile înainte și de la prima oră dacă vreți sa nu fie asa multa lume.
