An estate with an English garden, a charming theater, lakes and maisonettes, a delightful place to stroll around Versailles.

A haven of peace in the countryside, Marie-Antoinette's estate is a delightful place to stroll far from the sumptuous castle. Upon his accession in 1774, Louis XVI offered the Petit Trianon to Marie-Antoinette who renewed some of the decorations. She especially transformed the surroundings by creating the English Garden: rock, belvedere, temple of love, grotto of the queen. In 1780 she inaugurated the charming theater and in 1783 began to create a new garden: the Queen's Hamlet.

Pour marcher dans les pas de Marie-Antoinette rien de tel que de venir au petit Trianon,un petit Havre de paix .
Mon conseil arriver un peu avant l'ouverture poir avoir le moins de monde possible.

Overcrowded, loved to death by hordes of tourists, Versailles and Trianon are a painful experience. Even the huge park and gardens lost their charm with the tacky little train, paddle boats, disneyland fireworks.

Mały Trianon to pałacyk, który w porównaniu z tym co już zdążyłem zobaczyć w Paryżu i Wersalu, wyglądał biednie. Przejście budynku zajmuje około 10 minut. Pokoje są umeblowane, ale nie wszystkie w pełni. Parę z nich jest tak pusta, że nawet nie ma po co się tam zatrzymywać.
