Park designed for the Prince and Princess of Rohan-Guéméné by Alexandre-Louis Etable de La Brière in Versailles
Designed for the Prince and Princess of Rohan-Guéméné by Alexandre-Louis Etable de La Brière, this 7.2 hectare park was originally an English-style garden with a river, islands, a "mountain" and a grotto. The large vegetable garden surrounded by trellised fruit trees was bordered by an Orangery, a dairy and a farm. When the couple went bankrupt due to a financial scandal, the estate was bought by Louis XVI, who offered it in 1783 to his young sister, Madame Elisabeth.
