The Balbi Park is a garden designed as a place of travel and collection in Versailles.
Next to the Potager du Roi, this garden keeps the memory of the love affair of the Countess of Balbi with the Count of Provence, brother of Louis XVI and future Louis XVIII. It was Chalgrin who imagined and created in 1785 a property for the beautiful lover, of which this park is the only vestige. This garden was conceived as a place of travel and collection. Rare and tropical species were placed alongside forest species. A wild and poetic landscape, still punctuated by its river and its lake, that we appreciate for its calm. Today, it is also the happiness of families.
