Inn on the Castle Square offering regional cuisine and grilled meats.

Located on the Castle Square, in one of the oldest houses of the medieval city, the Auberge de Dame Carcas pays tribute to a legendary character and offers regional cuisine: cassoulet with duck confit, "coustellous" of pig with honey, filet mignon with porcini mushrooms, but also meats grilled over a wood fire. The kitchen, open to the room, allows customers to see the chef working in the kitchen, for the pleasure of the customers. The plates are copious and prepared with care, the service is friendly, in short, a recommended address.

très bon rapport qualité prix
Nous avons testé les menus à 17 et 23 euros. Pour un établissement intramuros, nous avons été très agréablement surpris. Avec le carcapass, apéritif ou café offert à l'achat d'un menu.

Sur conseil de l'hôtelier, et désirant manger dans la cité dans un resto qui ne soit pas "un resto à touristes" nous sommes allés à DAME CARCAS et nous ne regrettons absolument pas notre choix. Joli cadre, accueil sympa, vision sur la cuisine où s'activaient 2 jeunes cuisinières et surtout un fameux cassoulet . Nous l'avons pris à la carte 14€ , nous avons été prévenus d'un délai d'attente de 30mn bien comblé par un apéritif. Le cassoulet nous a été amené dans une cocotte individuelle en terre dans lequel un cassoulet frémissait et légèrement grillé, juste ce qu"il fallait, embaumait nos narines. Quel régal!!!!J'ai eu du mal à le terminer car très copieux et mon conjoint a juste trouvé une petite place pour une délicieuse crème brûlée. On y retournera sans hésitation.

What a disappointment! Happy one-way finally in Carcassonne I had had to finally able to eat a real cassoulet. The name of this restaurant rained me (you need to choose!), not very expensive (2menus and 15 26€). We therefore decided to eat... Starter gizzards salad or salad vegetarian. Being Lot, salad gizzards was very poor, the salad vegetarian, I do the same at home... and I do not claim me restaurateur! For dessert, cottage cheese sauce (just a zest) red fruits (I believe that you could not be called restaurant when you recreates a ramekin of cottage cheese without sugar just sauce). Stay the cassoulet, the part (with my taste) was a little right. The hot caquelon so that it was necessary expect 20min before being able to eat it but my faith, cassoulet in it even was not bad even if there were little duck. In short, disappointing. I will not go back
