Cathedral of Saint-Michel, of Gothic Languedoc style, with a very sober facade featuring a superb rose window of 8 m in diameter.
Built in the 13th century, in the Languedoc Gothic style, Saint-Michel's Cathedral witnessed the invasion of the Black Prince in 1355 and was partially destroyed after the violent fire of 1849. From its square, you can notice its very sober facade, enhanced by a superb rose window of 8 m in diameter. The stained glass windows, restored shortly after the fire by Alfred Gérente, illuminate the nave with geometric and anachronistic motifs. The architect Viollet-le-Duc finished the restoration work in the 19th century and signed his first vast building site in the city here.

Tolle Architektur und sehr gut erhalten. Liegt mitten in la City und somit eh auf dem Rundgang. Leider konnten wir bei unserem Besuch nicht ins Innere aber auch von Außen sehr imposant. Wir empfehlen eine sehr frühe Uhrzeit, da dir Stadt sonst sehr voll wird. Die Cafés hatten auch bereits ab 10.30 Uhr auf, so dass die frühe Uhrzeit kein Problem darstellt.
