House with permanent and temporary exhibitions on the work of writer Joë Bousquet

The Maison des Mémoires, located in an illustrious Bastide townhouse, was the former home of Joë Bousquet, the 20th century writer from the Aude region. It now houses the Centre Joë Bousquet et son Temps, offering permanent and temporary exhibitions on the writer's work. It is also home to the Association d'Études du Catharisme/René Nelli, the Garae Ethnopôle (Groupe Audois de Recherche et d'Animation Ethnographique) and the GRAPH, Centre Méditerranéen de l'Image.

Dans cet hôtel particulier à deux pas du Cours Gambetta, 53 rue de Verdun exactement, sont retracées la vie et l'oeuvre de Joë Bousquet.
Visite émouvante quand on connaît la vie dramatique de cet auteur paralysé après une blessure de guerre et qui vécu cloîtré dans sa chambre que l'on peut voir à travers une vitre et une fenêtre. L'Hôtel présente également des expositions temporaires.
