I didn't even make it around the museum due to leaving because of the extremely rude woman running the entrance way. She didn't acknowledge me when I walked in, but remained silent although I had said "Bonjour" as soon as I walked into the main area to the left, she clapped her hands loudly! And said sounding noticeably irritated, that I needed to put the luggage I had away! She then proceeded to click her fingers at me as you would call a dog to you!! I ignored her and instead walked straight out, I was utterly disgusted in the manner I had been spoken to. The woman needs a lesson in manners as this extremely rude interaction is not acceptable behaviour.

My review is for the rude lady that was working at the museum today. She saw all four of us walk in with bags and was quiet as we walked around the gift shop. Then as we went to enter a portrait room, she began to shout and say we weren't allowed in there with our bags. She told us we needed to put €1 in the locker for our bags and was visibly annoyed there was one small suitcase. She snapped her fingers at my sister and told her it would need to go near the fireplace. I decided not to continue with the visit because of her. She was so rude. Things can be explained politely and simply. Shouting and snapping your fingers at someone like they are a dog is completely unacceptable.

During my visit on a weekday, the museum was quiet with minimal visitors, creating a peaceful and immersive experience. If you're in Carcassonne, don't miss out on this cultural gem!

Fantastic free art museum.
Beautiful historic buildings which once was a courthouse. Lovely courtyard used in the summer.
Helpful staff who went out of the way to assist me in the lift!

Free to visit art museum in Carcassonne. Has a small but varied selection of modern and fine art, often related to the city. Won't take up much of your time and worth the visit.

Ce musée est gratuit, ce qui est rare dans notre pays. Pourtant la culture est importante surtout dans ces temps troublés.
Les personnels sont accueillants et les expositions temporaires intéressantes.

Intéressant musée que nous avons visité spécialement pour une exposition temporaire regroupant les oeuvres d'art contemporain d'un collectionneur.

Difficult parking. Average museum in all: outdated surroundings, collections of a less interesting. The many exhibitions are often interesting and original and the museum is very dynamic in terms of education to students.
I prefer however the original and cocoon-like atmosphere around 1900 Museum PETIET of Limoux, warm with its collections certainly less rich, stayed ".
