Its rich architecture, a testament to its eventful history, displays both the primitive church dating from 790, and the Romanesque church, adorned with its famous incarnate marble. The town is also a spokesperson for culture, with "Caunes en Personnes" from May 2024 onwards: year-round events combining tastings, painting and photography exhibitions, guided tours and art and wine events.

Closed December 24, 25, 31 and January. Open (February, March, November, December) daily 10am to 12pm and 2pm to 5pm; (April, May, October) daily 10am to 12pm and 2pm to 6pm; (June, September) 10am to 6pm; (July, August) daily 10am to 7pm. Adults €6, children aged 6 to 16 €2.50 (under 6s free). Guided tours by appointment in July and August: 11 am, 3 pm, 5 pm. Gift store. Leashed dogs welcome. Pays Cathare label.

Poussez la porte ça vaut le détour et si vous pouvez faites d'abord la carrière du marbre de caunes le mercredi et dimanche matin et la vôtre visite sera encore plus belle
