GALLA PLACIDIA * * *
Fully restored manor house with spacious rooms.
It's impossible not to fall under the spell of this superb Narbonne establishment dedicated to comfort and art. In this former manor house, hostess Julie Fontanet has created a living space based on the themes of femininity, romance and Bacchus. Here, the works of women artists, whose vernissage takes place every season, invite themselves everywhere, including the eight spacious bedrooms, the cosy living room and the dining room, where breakfast is served. Beautifully restored, the house is available for private dining upon reservation.

The room wasn't big, but I would mot call it small, either. It was comfortable, pleasant and very functional. A good-sized closet, a fold out table with chairs and a bench were all nice touches. The bathroom was spacious and nice. Bed, was comfortable and plush. Great big pillows and thick towels. Our room had a table and chairs in the courtyard that also extended the space. The flat screen TV is capable of streaming Netflix and Amazon with your own signin.
Checkin is totally automated, but the owner takes care to make guests feel welcomed in small ways like water and a candy jar in the main hallway (which also had town maps and restaurant cards). We had the pleasure of meeting the nice owner when we were leaving.
Roof top terrace was pretty and overlooks the quiet neighborhood.
Very close walk to train station and a pleasant walk to the historic plazas where shops, restaurants and landmarks are.
Overall, a beautiful hotel and we wished we could have spent more time enjoying it.
Je recommande vivement cette expérience qui rend le séjour très agréable.
