Son engagement financier dans un futur musée locale d'archéologie (le MURENA) , établissement très couteux à prétention nationale, n'est pas des plus pertinent, étant donné la concurrence régionale des grands musées archéologiques de Nîmes et de Arles, situés eux dans des villes gallo-romaines à la réputation prestigieuse lesquelles, à la différence de Narbonne, ont conservé une partie de leurs vestiges antiques !
