Roman horreum in the heart of the city, revealing a maze of underground galleries from Roman times in Narbonne
The Horreum reveals a maze of underground galleries from Roman times, which formed the foundations of a market or goods warehouse. Preserved almost in its entirety, the Horreum is located in the heart of Narbonne. Its construction dates back to the 1st century BC, when the city was the capital of the province of Narbonnaise Gaul. The Horreum is a member of the Narbo Via Public Cooperative Establishment (EPCC), which brings together two other sites dedicated to the Roman history of Narbonne: the Narbo Via Museum and the Amphoralis site-museum.
