Museum site in Sallèles-d'Aude with an outdoor trail leading to an ancient potters' garden and an arboretum.
Amphoralis is a site-museum that opened its doors to the public in 1992. The museum overlooks the archaeological excavations of a Gallo-Roman potters' workshop, active from 20/30 BC to the 3rd century. The museum exhibition traces the activities and daily lives of these potters, who mass-produced amphorae for transporting wine, as well as various building materials (bricks, tiles) and everyday tableware. An outdoor trail leads to an ancient potters' garden and an arboretum.
