PLACE SAINT-LOUIS
Pleasant, shady square with a remarkable statue and terrace, the beating heart of the touristic city of Aigues-Mortes.
The beating heart of the city, Place Saint-Louis is in the center of Aigues-Mortes, just opposite the Porte de la Gardette, its main entrance. A statue of the eponymous king sits in the middle, created by James Pradier in 1849. This pleasant square, shaded by plane trees, is a place of remembrance, sharing and idleness, and above all a place not to be missed. In summer, cafés and restaurants line the square. There are plenty of good addresses to choose from, not least for tourists, but also for local gems.
