FESTIVAL DU FILM COURT D'AIGUES-VIVES

As its name suggests, this film festival, which celebrated its 22nd anniversary in 2019, is mainly focused on short films. For a whole weekend, the Aigues-Vives arenas are transformed into a large open-air cinema from 9.45 pm: a giant screen, chairs, tapas and bands of musicians provide the early evening from 8 pm and intermissions. Each evening is dedicated to a specific theme (love, family, death...) and the works shown come from all over the world. A big meal is even organised every evening from 8 to 9.30 pm for those who wish to be present before the screenings. And they are numerous, because tickets are only sold that evening and the Aigues-Vives arenas can only accommodate 800 people. It's cultural but convivial, friendly, for cinephiles but not "smart" for all that. An astonishing mix between village spirit and the seventh art which, considering the longevity of the festival, takes very well!
In February, the "Revivre" evening offers a selection of the best films from the previous summer.
