FERIA D'ALÈS

If we equate the tradition of tauromachique, the herds and the feria to Iberian, Basque and Catalan culture, we often forget that the Languedoc people are also passionate about these traditional appointments. Here yeguada and toros are an integral part of the Camarguaise and Languedoc culture, and still find their amateurs from Béziers to Arles, Nimes and Alès. The arenas are crowded, the city centres are cerclés and the street is transformed into the taureaux of the bulls, a real show in the street. Each one can enter between two bars in the improvised arena and defy the power of the animal but station to you, you have to be lively and quickly expose on the other side of the barriers if you do not want to run the accident! In the evening it is the whole city that makes the holiday open, in the warm spring evenings. Wineries, podium, pégoulades, giant paquito, masses and parades, bandas, equestrian shows, gardonnenque race, encierros… For all ages and for all tastes. The feria at Alès is 300 000 people over five days! You will not miss it if you are at Ascension.
