The Accueil des villes françaises (AVF) association in Alès welcomes newcomers to the town and surrounding area to help them integrate. The AVF organizes a wide range of activities every week, as well as occasional meals and parties. Activities on offer include computer assistance, watercolor classes, walks, bowling, crafts, singing, bobbin lace, book discussions, genealogy initiations, puzzle games, mosaic, pastel, wood and glass painting, Qi Gong, scrabble, introductory gymnastics classes, tarot, coinche, Occitan, English and stained glass.
