Museum with archaeological collections from the Palaeolithic period, collections of paintings from the French and foreign schools from the century
Located at the top of the Parc du Colombier in the center of town, the museum is housed in a charming 18th-century château. Here, archaeological collections from the Palaeolithic era rub shoulders with collections of paintings from 16th-century French and foreign schools. The Neolithic Montaion stele and a painted plaster found at the Mons oppidum stand alongside a Holy Trinity triptych by Jean Bellegambe, a painting by Jan Breughel and a vase by Jean Mayodon. Temporary exhibitions are held here every year.
