A castle 275 meters above sea level, hosting guided tours offered by L'Association de Sauvegarde du Château d'Allègre

Standing at an altitude of 275 metres on a hectare and a half of land, the château offers incredible views of the Cévennes and Mont Bouquet. Its remarkable ruins are all that remain of the knightly village that once sheltered here in the ^11th century. The Association de Sauvegarde du Château d'Allègre brings these stone vessels back to life, notably by offering tours and events, including the medieval festival on the^3rd Saturday in July. Every first Saturday, volunteers get together to carry out work and maintenance on the site.

Si on se gare sur le (petit ) parking il faut monter sur environ 200m.

Belle balade au-dessus des fumades dans le haut du département du Gard. Magnifique vue sur les Cévennes, l'Ardèche, la Haute-Loire et l'Hérault. Prolonger encore la balade en découvrant une chapelle au milieu de la garrigue. Fleurs et plantes sauvages sont au rendez-vous (thym, romarin, lavande) . Se garer à la Begude suivre la très belle petite rivière aux reflets verts. Superbe.
