ATELIER CHATERSÈN
The Chatersèn workshop, created in 2006, defines itself as a "chair maker". This art furniture publishing house manufactures seats, chairs, armchairs, benches and stools, but also tables, consoles, shelves, planters and decorative objects (candle holders, shelves...). Sensitive to environmental issues and passionate about nature, Mireille Héral and Arnaud Mainardi, at the helm of the company, have close links with the forest, where they source their raw materials. The two craftsmen recover strands of chestnut trees from the maintenance work on the woods of the Cévennes. An ecological material, which also has qualities in terms of flexibility and solidity. Its warm shades, from honey to dark brown, as well as its flexibility are a godsend for both craftsmen, who are not hindered in their creativity.Curious about all the know-how related to wood - chair makers, strip makers, fencers, steam-curved wood, round post assemblies, debarking, basket makers, carpenters and cabinet makers - and initiated to all these traditional gestures, Mireille Héral and Arnaud Mainardi shape unique pieces or small series, with a modern design, intended for the development of private indoor or outdoor spaces, or for the embellishment of public spaces.
