VERFEUILLE
Some of the best castaneaulturists in the Cévennes - there are about 150 of them - are united in this cooperative founded in 1990. Between jams, chestnut creams, chestnut flour, pâtés or terrines - always flavoured with emblematic fruit -, the company has something for everyone: Verfeuille, whose modern and efficient workshops have moved from Lozère to the Gard, sorts its fruit manually to guarantee quality, and beyond the durability of the know-how inherited from the orchards of the Middle Ages. Over time, the cooperative has also specialized in processing small fruits that grow naturally in this country of montagne : blueberries, rosehips, raspberries, strawberries, wild blackberries...
