LA MAISON DES MÉTIERS ANCIENS
The house of the old trades, a place to discover the daily life of the workers of former times in La Grand-Combe
It is good to remember or to discover the daily lives of workers in the past. Lost or forgotten trades today find life at the House of Ancient Trades. Former roofer-zingueur, André Albérola has a passion for manual trades! It's up to the miners'house that he realized his dream of presenting 25 tons of tools and antiques that retrace the life and gestures of the people of the past. Some will find here objects or tools they have known and possibly used. Others will discover the tools of a time when human know-how, prior to mechanization and automation, was at its peak. If there are not too many people, the owner, passionate, will be happy to serve you as a guide throughout this visit, which can last up to two hours if you take the time to look at everything. A dozen "shops" show each of the tools dedicated to a lost trade. A place that pays tribute to a generation. Not to be missed.
